Along with supporting the credit risk function within the organization, the team also supports the analytical requirements function.. Job responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for building and leading the Model Validation team and manage interaction with regulators and other bank partners to provide model validation support.. The candidate will also be responsible in leading large analytics projects with a focus in process improvement, as well as understand the gaps in decisions.. Should be able to take complete ownership, including, but not limited to identifying model development approach, building models that meet our top standards, doing evaluation and cost benefit analysis of new vendors, implementation and deployment of models and tracking of credit risk decisions, dynamic model validation.. Job Requirements:. Six or more years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline.. Experience in developing or validating statistical models preferred.. Risk Management or Fraud experience within a Large Financial Institution environment. Experience leading Credit Risk Analytics teams to quantify risk and create control.. Successful candidate is expected to lead model validation program and model governance efforts. Additionally the candidate will need to interface with regulators/external partners on Model related exams/audits.. Extensive years of experience in modeling or model validation in established financial institutions. Must have extensive experience in financial modelling and/or model validation. Hands-on experience of statistical or econometric modeling is essential.. Experience utilizing strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to build relationships, communicate complex concepts simply and concisely, and influence senior leadership.. Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, and Finance. Masters or PhD is highly preferred.. Requires to communicate effectively with business partners and to present complex topics to a diverse range of audiences.. Excellent programming skills in a data science language (R or Python).. Solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning e.g. hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, etc. SQL expertise, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.. Base SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner certifications are desirable.. Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable with ambiguity and imperfect data..
