**EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT:** Every FEMA employee has regular and
recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every
position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All
positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency
management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work
at locations other than the official duty station, and may include
duties other than those specified in the employee's official
position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency
operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little
advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency
sites with physically austere and operationally challenging
In this position, you will serve as the Lead Action Officer for the
Caribbean Action and Chief of Staff Office.
Typical assignments include:
- Providing senior leadership with program evaluation results that
are utilized in the resource management process for greater

Recovery Office by FEMA , DHS Leadership, COR3 and other
- Ensuring responses are consistent with FEMA and DHS processes

- Ensuring responsiveness, accuracy, relevancy, consistency, and
appropriate approval and clearance in the coordination of tasks
and packages submitted for review and approval.
- Managing and following clearly defined processes and working
across the JRO as appropriate, including coordination with the
JRO Leadership, Operations, Interagency Coordination, Missions
Support, Legal Division, and External Affairs, FEMA Executive
Secretariat, FEMA ORR Recovery Directorate, and FEMA Region 2
- Arranges team member training, using team building techniques to
accomplish individual or team oriented tasks/projects.
**Promotion Potential:** Positions filled under Stafford Act
regulations generally do not have documented promotion potential;
however, dependent on an employee s ability to perform higher level
duties, the continuing need for an employee to perform work
associated with a higher level position, and administrative

resume must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized
experience equivalent to the IC-11 level in federal service. This

Response Employee (CORE) is an appointment type granted under
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance
Act, Section 306 (b), which authorizes FEMA to appoint such
temporary employees as necessary to accomplish work authorized
